All-SCC Men's Soccer Teams Released, South Coast Boasts 1-4 Top SoCal Playoff Seeds
2024 ALL-SOUTH COAST CONFERENCE TEAMS
SOCAL REGIONAL PLAYOFF BRACKET
The South Coast Conference has the monopoly on the top four seeds for this week's beginning of the 2024 Southern California Regional Men's Soccer Playoffs.
Long Beach City College (16-3-3) earned the #1 seed, followed by #2 Mt. San Antonio (14-3-4), defending 3C2A state champion #3 El Camino (14-2-4) and #4 Cerritos (13-2-5). All four squads get a bye in the first round and will host Round 2 matches on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Also making the postseason field of 24 from the South Coast are #9 Los Angeles City (11-7-5), #15 Pasadena City (13-8), and #22 Compton (8-8-3). On Wednesday, Nov. 20 in Round 1, LA City hosts #24 Desert, Pasadena hosts #18 Bakersfield, and Compton visits #11 Saddleback.
The 2024 All-South Coast Conference Teams were selected by conference coaches as El Camino's Marvin Gamez repeats as a South Division Offensive Player of the Year as a co-winner with Cerritos' Jose Lopez. Lopez led the entire 10-team conference in goals (14) and points (35) while Gamez amassed 10 goals and a SCC-high 10 assists.
El Camino's Franco De Luna was South Defensive Player of the Year and Long Beach's Abraham Ramirez named South Goalie of the Year.
The South Coach of the Year for the second year in a row is El Camino's Michael Jacobson.
The North Offensive Player of the Year is Mt. SAC's Moises Prado, the Mounties' Felipe Cobian is North Defensive Player of the Year, while there were North Co-Goalies of the Year in LA City's Carlos Rodriguez and Mt. SAC's Alex Ledesma.
The North Coach of the Year is PCC's Francisco Cantero, who directed the Lancers to second place in the division.
