Complete SCC Track and Field Championship Results
Mt. San Antonio College's Jody Colbert Jr. dominated the sprints and Cerritos phenom Mackenzie Monson put on a throwing clinic to highlight the South Coast Conference Women's Track and Field Prelims/Championships held at El Camino College April 21 and 25.
Colbert won the 100 and 200-meter dashes, the 100 hurdles and was on the winning 4x100 relay as Mt. SAC won the SCC team title for the fourth time in five years and 19th in conference history. The Mounties scored 326.5 points to easily outdistance Cerritos at 208. Long Beach placed third with 115. Pasadena City's fourth place of 69.5 points was its best total in 13 years.
Monson shattered her own SCC meet record set last year of 172 feet, 2 inches with a new mark of 184-5 to win the hammer toss. She added event wins in both the shot put (42-11.75) and discus (151-1) to match Colbert's three total individual titles. In the discus, the Falcons finished 1-2-3.
