Last year, the Pasadena City College women's soccer team set a school record for most victories in a season. The Lancers have brought back a boatload of sophomores and have been the standout team in South Coast Conference women's soccer thus far in 2024.

Ranked #2 in the state and #2 in the United Soccer Coaches national community college poll, The Lancers set a school-record for most consecutive victories at seven that was broken on Sept. 17 in a 0-0 tie at Citrus. PCC (7-0-1) has one of the state's best midfielders in returning All-SCC First Team selection Charlie Gallardo, who scored a hat trick in a win at state #16 Santa Barbara CC. The team also has a win over #7 Saddleback.

PCC has never won a SCC title and is challenging to unseat current #10 Mt. San Antonio for the North Division crown this season. The Lancers have posted seven shutouts in their eight contests.

Winners of the past two North titles, the Mounties (3-4-1) have played just two South Region teams in the early going, but have also played a hard schedule including a 4-0 win over #14 San Joaquin Delta, a 0-0 tie v. #8 Sierra, a 2-0 loss to #4 Folsom Lake, and a 3-0 defeat v. #12 Lake Tahoe. Rated #13 in the nation, Mt. SAC returns All-SCC First Team goalie Anai Olmedo.

Also in the North are Rio Hondo (1-4), paced by returning SCC North Goalie of the Year in Isabel Maldonado, Los Angeles City (1-6), who has a talented scorer in Tania Leal (three goals so far), and East Los Angeles (0-4) as the Huskies still looking to get on the points board. The Huskies return All-SCC First Teamer Hailey Vargas.

In the South Division, unranked Long Beach City is undefeated at 1-0-3 and is a 2-time defending division champ. The Vikings already have an impressive 0-0 tie v. state #3 Chaffey in their season opener. LBCC returns All-SCC First Team defender Abbie Campos. The Vikings are again the favorite to win the South.

El Camino (3-2-1) earned a 2-2 tie v. Delta and has a returning All-SCC First Teamer in Ashley Ruiz. Cerritos (1-5-2) has played a dfficult schedule, scoring its one win v. #15 Desert, 2-1, while suffering losses v. Delta and #13 Santiago Canyon. The Falcons have a solid scorer in Ariana Rivera (three goals), including the game-winner in extra time v. COD.

Compton (2-3-1) is improved and has the current SCC-leading scorer in Anahi Rodriguez (six goals, 13 points). LA Harbor (1-4-1) is led by sophomore midfielder Melanie Ramos.
